Common faults during charging your EV

If someone said that trams are now more cost effective than fuel cars, everyone's first reaction should be to brag. But compared to fuel cars, new energy can really save a lot of money every year, which makes a large number of oil car users have since become fans of electric cars. Many owners new to the electric car will encounter some puzzling warnings, we do not panic, today to help you sort out the common faults of the charging pile, to help you easily solve the charging problem!

Electric-car-charging

Generally speaking, AC is slow charging and DC is fast charging.

AC charging station: provides AC power to the on-board charger on the electric vehicle, which charges the battery;

DC charger station: charges the battery directly without going through the on-board charger. The power of the on-board charger is generally smaller, so it is suitable for slow charging. The equipment itself has been certified by the national safety certification, with over-voltage, over-current, leakage, lightning, rain, dust and other various protection measures, there is no security risk. Once there is a failure, in addition to the charging pile self-test diagnosis and power off, the maintenance personnel will promptly deal with the corresponding problems, so the use of the process of safety can be guaranteed.

Super-Charging-Station

  • Home charging station with red light on:
  1. Many charging APPs have automatic charging function. You just need to plug it in and wait until the set time or the right time when the APP will automatically control the charging station to turn on. If you set up automatic charging on the APP, the charging pile won't work until it's time. If you don't need this function, you just need to cancel it manually to charge immediately.
  2. This can happen if you are using an older charging station. When the plug of the charging post is loose, the problem of charging interruption will occur. At this point, we can only solve the problem by replacing the charging station, if the charging station is your own, then you should let a professional electrician come over to check and repair, so as not to cause damage to the vehicle.
  3. When the charging station detects an excessive load, it will automatically cut off the power and enter into a protection program for safety reasons, and the charging station will not start even if you manually turn it on. This happens when there are too many vehicles in the parking lot charging at the same time. if this problem occurs, we can only choose to change the charging station, or go to a charging station with fewer vehicles to charge.
Charging-Light-On
  • Charging station exclamation point appears and not charging
  1. Vehicle type problem, the communication protocol between the charging pile and the charging vehicle does not match, if the owner's electric vehicle is a non-pure electric vehicle or the communication protocol does not comply with the national standard protocol, there will be a failure to start charging normally;
  2. The charging voltage between the charging station and the charging vehicle is too high, undervoltage alarm and other problems can also cause the charging can not be started. Try to plug and unplug a few more times, if not successful, you can only change the station to try again. Fast charging plug is particularly heavy, coupled with the public plug may be a long time in the sun, a little deformed, so it is possible to have not plugged in place with one try. if it was pluged right, there will be a slight mechanical locking sound. If it does not work, it is generally a problem with the charging adaptor. It is also possible that the output voltage of the charging post is higher than the maximum allowable voltage of the battery.

However, if you encounter charging station reported fault light, charging pile start self-test process abnormality caused by the inability to start charging, please first check the instructions carried with the pile and call the customer, find a more professional is always the solution!
