Northvolt is building a factory in north Germany
According to reports, Swedish battery manufacturer Northvolt has begun building a battery factory in northern Germany to produce products for electric vehicles.
Northvolt's German factory will use wind power and will employ about 3,000 people in the future and start operations in 2026. The factory aims to have an annual production capacity of 60GWh, making it Germany's largest battery factory, enough to provide battery products for approximately 1 million electric vehicles.
Peter Carlsson, CEO of Northvolt, said at the opening ceremony of the company's new factory in Germany that although the current growth momentum of electric vehicles has declined, in the long term, the basic development trend of electric vehicles has not changed.
