LED Bulbs

How long is the service life of car light bulbs?

Mostly, the lifespan of a car bulb varies greatly depending on the type of bulb. Here are some common types of car bulbs and their approximate lifespan ranges:

Halogen Bulbs

Halogen bulbs: Halogen bulbs generally last between 4 and 6 years, or about 300 to 500 hours of continuous use. Halogen bulbs lose brightness over time. Frequent use or high temperature environments may affect their lifespan.

Xenon Bulbs

Xenon lamps (HID): Xenon lamps generally last much longer than halogen lamps, up to 2500 to 3000 hours, and can theoretically last more than 10 years. Xenon lamps have no filaments, but instead produce light through high-voltage gas discharge. However, the ballast (used to stabilize the current) of the xenon lamp system can become a point of failure.

LED Bulbs

LED lamps: LED bulbs have the longest lifespan, which can reach 20,000 to 100,000 hours, which generally means they can last as long as the life of the vehicle. The lifespan of LED bulbs is affected by factors such as frequency of use, ambient temperature, and current control. Good heat dissipation design can extend the lifespan of LED lamps.

Please be know that the above service life is just a theoretical value. But in real life, the life of the bulb will be affected by many factors such as frequency of use, maintenance status, vehicle use environment, etc. In order to ensure driving safety, it is very important to regularly check whether the car bulbs are working properly. When the bulb is close to its expected life or has problems such as reduced brightness or flickering, it should be replaced in time.
